The Bolivian man who hijacked Aeromexico’s airliner on 9/9/09 has an interesting past. His name is Josmar Flores Pereira (aka Jose Marc Flores Pereira). He has been involved in drugs since he was young and he now claims to be a born-again Christian. He’s the leader of a Christian ministry in Cancun, Mexico (which some media outlets have described as a religious cult) known as ‘Exito Familiar’ in Spanish, which means ‘Family Success.’
According to the official story, when Josmar Flores Pereira was arrested after he hijacked the Aeromexico Boeing 737, he told Mexican police that he did it because he received a ‘divine message’ concerning the date of September 9 of 2009, or 9/9/9, and 666 reversed. As he was being escorted out of the airplane, the Mexican secretary of transportation, Juan Molinar Horcasitas, declared that there was never a bomb onboard the plane. In fact, authorities are now saying that the suspect used two empty cans or containers of fruit juice filled up with soil, duck-taped with cell phones and a couple of LED lights as mock explosives.
Curiously, most of the passengers from flight 576 did not even realize the plane was being hijacked until it landed and saw the police and military troops surrounding it. That was because Pereira was quietly using the airplane phone to communicate with the pilots. There were no box cuters involved, no shoes with C-4 being waived at the passengers and flight attendants, and no dynamite strapped to a vest. One question comes to mind: How many Christian pastors in the world are capable of executing such smooth and precise plane hijacking? According to initial media reports, some of the passengers who were close to the cabin saw two or three men handling the mock explosives near the cabin. Mexican police even arrested and escorted 5 people (including Mexican congressman Hernan Villatoro) out of the airplane. Nevertheless, it officially turned out to be only one man: Josmar Flores Pereira. Even though the cans of juice that he used as mock explosives were filled up with dirt, Mexican Special Forces took them and blew them up as if they were real to put on a nice show for the media. The whole thing was made to look like an antiterrorism drill.
Since he was a teenager, Pereira became involved in drugs, mainly cocaine. He has a violent past. In one of his Youtube videos, he even stated in front of his Christian followers that ‘he used to be a hitman in his native Bolivia,’ claiming that ‘he can still shoot a coin in the air with his pistol.’ Having a military background, I found the Pereira’s video a little silly, throwing himself on the ground when shooting his pistol (almost shooting himself while rolling on the ground). But as goofy as that may look, that’s how many gang members shoot each other during gun fights, aiming and shooting erratically while rolling on the ground. In the video, he later shows his ability to use nun-chucks. Then he gets on a boat and casts his pistol into a lake, where he supposedly prays and promises to God not to use it any more.
In the City of Cancun, which has been Pereira’s home for the last 17 years, there have been many government corruption and drug trafficking scandals. One of the local newspapers by the name of Por Esto! (Spanish for Because of This!) has been the biggest news source that has exposed the drug trafficking ties between the governments of the states of Yucatan and Quintana Roo, as well as many other local governments in the region and even the CIA. The newspaper Por Esto was the first source that exposed the CIA drug smuggling operations in Yucatan, and how they were using planes with the letter designation of DBA. In August of 2006, this newspaper exposed a scandal that was so big that their offices were attacked with machineguns and grenades. They had been exposing these acts of corruption for many years. As a result, some of these journalists have been assassinated.
After the 2006 grenade attacks on the newspaper offices, the Cancun police arrested two suspects. One of the suspects arrested was a teenager by the name of Stanley Peregrino Lopez. He was caught making threatening phone calls to Police Chief Wilfrido Flores Saucedo and Police Commissioner Ricardo Adrian Samos Medina from a public payphone.
After being arrested, Peregrino Lopez declared in his statement to police that he belonged to ‘Exito Familiar,’ which is Josmar Flores Pereira’s ministry. Furthermore, the teenager said that Pereira was paying him 200 Pesos for every threatening phone call to the authorities. He showed the police the location where he received the orders: A restaurant by the name of ‘Las Delicias de Josmar’ (Josmar’s Delights), which was owned by? You guessed it… Josmar Flores Pereira. Now, why would a Christian man be involved in terrorizing the police headquarters of Cancun at the same time drug traffickers and government crooks were being arrested left and right? Could it be that he’s still involved in drugs? Is he, perhaps still a hitman, but on a larger scale? Is this just a coincidence? By the time the police went after Pereira, he had fled to the United States. As it turned out, he was still giving instructions to Peregrino via a third man by the name of Carlos Lopez Lazaro, who was still receiving orders over the phone from Pereira from the United States.
A year later, the allegations about the CIA being in cahoots with the local governments and drug traffickers in the Yucatan Peninsula, made by the newspaper Por Esto, were proven to be true when an airplane with 3.2 tons of cocaine crashed. The plane was identified with DBA markings and it turned out to be indeed a CIA plane. Soon after that, there were more attacks on the newspaper and police stations in the area. Many people died, including journalists, police officers and even a mayor. Police commissioner Ricardo Samos was gunned down; and although he survived, he was forced to resign. And of Josmar Flores Pereira, nothing was ever heard again; nobody ever talked about him anymore. No one ever spoke of the case… until now.
On a coincidental side note, the hijacking incident has been the perfect media distraction for Mexican President Felipe Calderon. You see, Calderon was supposed to announce that the Mexican government is going to have to raise taxes tomorrow. Now, the Mexican media will have something to chew on: A sensationalized story about a hijacking, and how successful Calderon was by stopping a potential terror attack. This will be the perfect smoke screen for Calderon to divert attention from his tax blunder, just like he used the Mexican swine flu 6 months ago. Josmar Flores Pereira is the perfect patsy or useful idiot for an event like this -whether he acted alone or not. He’s the perfect BS’er, the perfect actor with the ideal experience to become involved in a bizarre incident such as this -his Youtube videos can prove that. The media reported that during the hijacking of Aeromexico flight 576, Pereira said he wanted to talk to Calderon to warn him about an earthquake. Did he mean it literally or perhaps metaphorically? Because there will be a political earthquake for Mexico’s ruling politicians once the people of Mexico realizes that their taxes will be raised. Perhaps it was a totally spontaneous event and he acted on his own. Or perhaps the real message he had for Calderon was meant to say ‘hello Mr. Calderon, we’re from the Gulf Cartel and if you don’t withdraw the military troops from our streets, we can hijack planes.” But of course, that was not the case here; it was only a religious fanatic, right?
Stay tuned…
