U.S. army is recruiting children
The US has long-fought against the use of child soldiers abroad, but apparently not at home, according to Tim Franzen of the American Friends Service Committee. Fighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan takes manpower, and without a draft the US has turned to shady tactics to keep its military ranks full. Franzen says that this “abuse by recruiters” includes “coercion, deception, and false promises” which make our volunteer military not so voluntary.
