In a dramatic, late-night move, Israel’s two main political parties have agreed to form a national unity government, canceling early elections and forming a solid front as the country braces for a possible pre-emptive strike against Iran–and possible American opposition. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had only recently announced his intention to call early elections for the sake of stability heading into the fall, has likely achieved that stability almost immediately through his political gambit.
The price reportedly demanded by the opposition Kadima party, led by former Israel Defense Force Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz, was that the current law allowing military deferments for religious students be amended.
Netanyahu’s governing Likud has been frequently demonized by then-Senator Barack Obama and his left-wing allies, including the radical J Street organization, who have held out the opposition Kadima as an acceptable alternative to the current Israeli government. As much as Likud may have to accept some policy compromises, Israel’s critics will be forced to confront the fact that Israeli society is largely unified against the threat of a nuclear Iran and against the threat posed by a potential terrorist state in the West Bank.
Such a great Hypocrisy they have in Israel huh?, oh did i say Hypocrisy I ment Democracy.
So does this mean Israel might actually be prepared to use the weapons America has given it against them if they object strong enough to them starting a war with Iran? They might, but I don’t think they’d do it too your faces.. We should ALL know by now Israel doesn’t mind attacking America if it means America will jump in and help them in their causes.
That’s a strange one that is, don’t you think? – America gets attacked by Israel, but somehow America ends up believing it was whoever Israel happens to point their finger at and so attacks the other people instead of Israel… how does that work? – Oh that’s right the ‘government’ LIES to you on TV and the mainstream media backs it all up.
I always wondered what those Israeli lobby groups were doing in America now i understand.
Do you remember the attack on the U.S.S LIBERTY?
Remeber they strafed and sunk the life boats of American sailors, they MURDERED American sailors who – having escaped the flames on the ship by jumping into the water were only to be gunned down by Israel’s gunboats.
I believe God spared the Liberty and a few of her men that day for one reason, So America should know of the traitor who calls itself a friend to your face but sticks the knife in deep too your backs = Israel.
BTW, Where is the justice for the men of the U.S.S Liberty?
