The Police Service of Northern Ireland has released video of July 12-13th overnight Belfast riots which they say wounded 20 officers. The violence by Catholic nationalists followed a token Protestant parade past a militant Catholic area, an annual confrontation that has triggered street fights for four straight years.
Hundreds of protesters have clashed with riot police in Madrid over the new set of austerity measures. One person suffered a broken nose and three people were arrested. The protesters demonstrated on Friday evening outside the People’s Party offices of Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy before clashing with riot police, AP reports. Police used batons to prevent the crowds from getting too close to the Socialist Workers’ Party headquarters. The latest round of protests comes only two days after the previous unrest, when at least 76 people were injured in clashes, many by rubber bullets used by police. The injured included 33 police officers and 43 protesters — mostly miners and their supporters

Haha the Catholics said they would allow the Protestant Loyalist bands to pass through Ardoyne (a Catholic area) if they didn’t play any songs on the route, so the bands stayed silent and the Catholics still threw stones and bottles etc.
Yet on the news there’s nothing about it really.
Last time the media made it out to be the cause of Protestants, when in fact they’re all warned beforehand to not cause any trouble or even be provocative in any way towards the Catholics because more of the historically and traditional marching routes taken by the Loyalist bands on the 12th of July parades would come in to scrutiny if that were the case, so of course Protestant youths know better not to start anything because they’d be severely dealt with.
I guess when you have a “50/50 equal opportunities” deal set up in the police force in Northern Ireland to have Catholics and Protestants in the force, these kinds of things get skewed beyond belief, but somehow still promoted by the media that Protestants are in the wrong.
Members of the grand orange order (Protestants) have captured on video year after year police standing by and doing nothing while Catholic youths throw stones and bottles and lumps of wood at the loyalist bands and their followers, and when that video footage is handed into the media they refuse to show it, instead opting to show riots which take place afterwards as night falls and both communities riot, yet they focus more on the Protestants who are rioting, and not showing both sides or how it came to start.
I’m only here as long as my Grandmother is living as i have a duty to her to make sure she’s looked after since she raised me, when it’s over I’m heading back to bonnie Scotland.
I’m certainly not going to continue living in the shit hole open air prison police state they call Belfast, and anyone considering coming here to live, think twice, Belfast and indeed Northern Ireland is fine for a short break but not to live.
