Ted Nugent appeared on CNN with Erin Burnett Thursday night to discuss the latest gun control legislation that passed its first hurdle in the Senate earlier in the day. While he agreed with some of the principles in the bill when it comes to keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill, the gun rights advocate and rocker called it a “feel-good measure” and said he “doesn’t trust the government” to handle the task.
Texas Bill Criminalizing Airport Pat-Downs Is Back
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A contentious proposal to criminalize excessive touching by agents during airport security pat-downs returned Wednesday to the Texas Legislature, along with concerns that the federal government could ground all flights into and out of the state if it ever becomes law.
The House State Affairs Committee heard testimony on a bill by Rep. David Simpson of Longview that would make intentionally touching travelers’ private parts by security officials illegal without probable cause.
The tea party Republican introduced a much-ballyhooed measure in 2011 making it illegal for anyone conducting searches to touch travelers’ privates, even though clothing, while prohibiting searches considered offensive “to a reasonable person.”
Judge orders prosecution to prove that Bradley Manning intended to ‘aid the enemy’
A US military judge says the government must prove that Army Private Bradley Manning intended to aid the enemy when he released hundreds of thousands of sensitive files to WikiLeaks.
The official tribunal against the 25-year-old private first class is not slated to start until June, but during pretrial hearings on Wednesday morning, Col. Denise Lind ruled that the government has a burden to prove that the soldier aimed to inflect harm on the United States when he sent materials to the whistleblower site.
Reporting from the media center at Ft. Meade, Maryland, independent journalist Alexa O’Brien writes that the United States government must now prove that Pfc. Manning acted “with reason to believe such info could be used to the injury of the US or to advantage of any foreign nation.” By doing so, Lind is making it much harder for the government to convict Manning on the most serious of the charges: aiding the enemy. If convicted on this count, Manning could theoretically be sentenced to die. Prosecutors, however, have said they would settle for life in prison.

It says the effort is to catch people trying to beat the system, but some say it goes too far.
Attorney Kristen Mathews warns to be careful with what you say on social media platforms.
She has concerns the government is pushing the limits of what has historically been considered private.
“There are laws that regulate the government’s ability to get a hold of things like credit card transaction history. But those laws have become more permissive in the last several years, particularly after 9-11, and so some might say those laws are no longer in line with the average expectation of privacy,” says Mathews.
The government has said it would only check a Facebook page or twitter account if there is already red flag in a tax form.

Many folk have heard that the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. made the comment that the U.S. government [was/is] “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today”. This was in context to a speech delivered on April 4, 1967 (which became his Death day) at Riverside Church in New York City – exactly one year before his untimely death. Though not as well-known as his other speeches, this is one of the ones that speak deeply to my soul. Did US secret weapons cause Japan’s earthquake and tsunami???

A declassified government report (96 MB file) featured in the newspaper article below shows that a tsunami bomb was created as a potential weapon during WWII in a program code-named Project Seal. There is little doubt that this tsunami weapon was further developed and refined over the ensuing decades, though all documents related to current developments of the project are almost certainly still classified. Though it may seem far-fetched to imagine military involvement, these documents and reports raise serious questions about the recent tsunami in Japan and the December 26, 2004 tsunami in Indonesia.
The many layers of intense secrecy both in the government and military result in very few people being aware of the gruesome capabilities for death and destruction that have been developed over the years. Were it not for the below article in New Zealand’s leading newspaper, the public would never have known that a tsunami bomb had been created many decades ago. No one denies that highly destructive weapons are being developed in secret by the militaries of the world. What the public doesn’t know is what these weapons are, and what they are being used for. All of this is generally classified for reasons of “national security.”
Sadly, the rubric of “national security” has all to often been used for secret political and economic gains which clearly do not benefit the public. Operation Northwoods, uncovered by ABC News in the year 2000, showed that the top Pentagon generals were willing to foment terrorism and sacrifice innocent civilians in order to provoke a war with Cuba in the early 1960s. Credible researchers into the government’s HAARP program are convinced that this technology which manipulates our ionosphere is being used for military means and can even cause natural disasters like earthquakes. Because of this, we have to ask the hard questions.

Poll: 4 percent of Americans believe lizard people control world
Some Americans are batshit crazy, a new poll suggests.
According to a Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey, 28 percent of American voters believe “that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government, or New World Order.”
The poll also found that 13 percent of American voters believe that President Barack Obama is the anti-Christ, 14 percent feel the CIA was involved in distributing crack cocaine to Americans in the 1980s (A proven FACT), 9 percent believe the government adds fluoride to America’s water supply for “sinister reasons” (the other option is what? Stupidity?) and 11 percent think the U.S. government “knowingly allowed the attacks on September 11th, 2001, to happen.”
Perhaps most surprisingly, only 4 percent of American voters said they believe shape-shifting lizard people “control our world by taking on human form and gaining political power to manipulate our societies.” In the lead-up to November’s presidential election, a major satirical expose by Daily Caller editors Jamie Weinstein and Will Rahn, “The Lizard King,” revealed that President Obama himself was shape-shifting lizard man.
PPP polled a total of 20 so-called conspiracies, including on such politically polarized issues as global warming and whether the administration of George W. Bush misled the public about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction.
A majority of Republicans responded saying they believe that global warming is a hoax, while a majority of Democrats said it wasn’t.

“Even crazy conspiracy theories are subject to partisan polarization, especially when there are political overtones involved,” Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling, said in a statement. “But most Americans reject the wackier ideas out there about fake moon landings and shape-shifting lizards.”
The poll also asked Americans about aliens, whether Paul McCartney is really alive and the link between vaccinations and autism, among other topics. (Question: IS water wet? Next question: Is Obama a Hermaphrodite? If just ONE person says Cousin Barry is a He/She… then water is not wet? Horrible survey meant to discredit facts and actual research… Now, back to “American Idler” and “Dancing with the Slaves”…)
The poll surveyed 1,247 registered voters and has a margin of error of 2.8 percent.
Syrian rebels ‘use chemical weapon’
Syrian state media say rebels fighting to topple President Bashar al-Assad have fired a chemical weapon in the north of the country.
“Terrorists launched a missile containing chemical products into the region of Khan al-Assal in the province of Aleppo, killing 15 people, mainly civilians”, Sana news agency said.
The government routinely refers to rebels as “terrorists”.
Rebels denied the report, accusing the government of using chemical agents.
North Korean video shows imagined attack on Washington
Seoul, South Korea (CNN) — A new North Korean propaganda video shows images of what appears to be an imagined missile attack on U.S. government buildings in Washington, including the White House and the Capitol.
The roughly 4-minute video was posted Monday on the YouTube channel of the North Korean government website Uriminzokkiri.
It carries a montage of clips of different weapons, including artillery guns firing and large missiles on display at military parades.
Just before the three-minute mark, it cuts to footage of the White House in an electronic sight’s crosshairs, and then a simulated explosion of the Capitol’s dome.
At the same time, the voice narrating the video says, “The White House has been captured in the view of our long-range missile, and the capital of war is within the range of our atomic bomb.”

With the mood traditionally intense there were a number of arrests after the leader of a local anti-fascist group was beaten up.
